Polo 6C 1.2 TSI dogbone mount

Hey fox,

Last year I was complaining about massive engine jerking in the engine bay.
After some research, the issue was the gearbox mount on driver side (passenger side for you Uk's drivers).

The original one is to weak, even for petrol's engines and according to some peoples, VW remove the original petrol gearbox mount and replaced them by diesel: much stronger.

I bought it on Autodoc from LEMFÖRDER. Part is: 29978 01. LEMFÖRDER is the official supplier for this part.
They sell it for 45 euros, they just put a gray paste over VW logo

Now I'm looking for the dogbnone mount.

I replaced is two years ago but before replacing the gearbox mount. So, because of that I think it's again in bad condition because of the stress due to the (now replaced) old gearbox mount.

The part number is 6Q0199851AN and it's no longer available.
According to some website there is a 6Q0199851BB, shape is the same but no more information.

Also it will cost me over 140 euros. I love VW part, but man, price sucks.

I saw some Meyle, Corteco products but not sure about quality and lifetime.

Not yet.
Hoping to get one in January if I can convince someone coming back this way to bring me one. Shipping is like adding another 50% onto that price.
I have looked at the poly mounts and don't want those again. This one is rubber so it has some give.

My dogbone mount and transmission mounts need changing. There is way too much driveline shunt while driving. And now I'm starting to see occassional difficulty getting into 3rd and 4th. Have been told mounts can do that.

But this car already has driveline shunt issues from very low mileage. First car I've had where I can rock the engine easily by hand. So I'm after something I won't have to change several times. I'm sure it'll cost as much as a few stock mounts over time; that I guess depends on how long you plan on keeping the vehicle.

I just offered the recommendation to show there are other options than the regular units which don't seem to last.
I'll live with some vibration, but I hear it is nowhere near what a poly mount or solid insert will do.

Inline with the original question, you shouldn't have a problem with Meyle parts. Meyle products I've used have all been of very good quality.

I did the change, and, yeah the improvement is very very good.

Still a little bit of play, but with hand, it's almost impossible to move the engine.

According to some guys, on Skoda but with the same engine, vibrations are higher and confort not so great.

I think I'm gonna buy Diesel one to test if the result is ok

Something in my brain(??) makes me think that I've read that TDI dogleg mounting assembly is not the same as the TSI one, but, all you need to do, is to remove the alloy arm with the stiffer bushing from the new TDI dogleg mounting and swop it with the one currently on your TSI dogleg mounting.

When I was digging in ETKA a long time ago it came down to 6Q0 199 851 AS for the CJZD and the 6Q0 199 851 AT for the diesel (1.4/1.6).

Didn't notice the recomended change though.
I see they recommend the 6Q0 199 851 AN which is referenced to the AZL 2-litre engine in a Skoda Fabia 2000-2008.

I have looked into full poly, poly insert, metal insert and full rubber mounts. Think I'll keep with the Vibratechnics I plan to get. If that doesn't work out as planned, then it's back to the alphabet soup game.

I can confirm to you that the original dogbone mount was an "AS" one.
After, when I bought a new one to the dealer, it was an "AN".
But now, this one is discontinuted.

"BB" seems to be the new one.

So, some updates:

I ordered two new holders of different brands for my car.

The basic part number is no longer supplied by VW (6Q0199851AN), manufactured by Lemforder and currtently on my car.

It would have been replaced by 6Q0199851BB, which is fitted to 1.6 TSI abroad. But there's no official confirmation.
This is the Meyle, I didn't take the official 140-euro version....

Engine jerking recurring problem on the Polo 5. The silent bloc for petrols are too weak and VW has ended up using those designed for diesels (I've already changed the gearbox support silencer).

The reference for diesels dogbone mount(1.6 TDI) is 6Q0199851AP.
Many owners have made this kind of modification, just change the black bracket.
It's Lemforder, the official supplier, they just filed off the VW logo.

The problem is: the diesel version (lemforder) is softer than the petrol version (meyle).
So it's hard for me to understand.
Softer=more jerks?
Less soft=less jerks?
