Ambient light in the dash
This is not an OEM retrofit, but i think has the same optical results as the OEM.
For an OEM retrofit there is a need of BCM change, and of course other dash trims and door panels.
SKODA Octavia mk4 has ambient lights in the dash, front doors and at the feet of the passengers. This is a photo of the original ambient light.

My model hasn't this kind of feature
I decided to do it my way.
I bought from AliExpress a set of car ambient lights. It looks like this

It has LED strips, extremely narrow with a nice light effect, 64 colors, dual zone color adjustment through an application from mobile phone.
I removed the dash trim inserts (very easily, without any tools, just with hands)
This is the small dash decor insert. At the inner side has enough space for the OEM lights, so there isn't any problem with the LED strips to fit.
I cut a LED strip and attached it with VHB 3M double sided tape. This is the result
I did the same with the other (bigger) one.
Now the wiring.
I dismounted some plastic trims at the driver's side.
Found a spot to install the main module of the set. (under the central console). You can see the module at the 2nd photo.
And the wire route under the carpet.
I had already found a way to connect the 12V supply to the BCM (pin C35). There are some posts on the same tread here

I route the wires for the LED strips though the dash and...
...ready for the final test.
