Manual v Dsg

Post by Casbantam »

Hi there,

I am looking to upgrade from my 2016 1.2 Tsi to a MK11 and don't know if to go for the 1.0 Rline 95ps manual or the 110ps Dsg.

Can anyone give advice or pros and cons on ownership of either. I was initially looking at the manual but now considering the Dsg as well.

Does the 5 speed manual have good gear ratio and can anyone compare against the 1.2 Tsi?

Are you happy with the Dsg 7 speed or should you have got a manual. Does the extra 15ps make much difference? Some reports say the box is excellent but jerky at low speeds.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Drive both versions and see which you prefer?
For stop start traffic and long journeys nothing beats an auto box
Expensive when they break tho

Thanks for reply. Hoping to test the DSG next week. Anyone got experience of problems with the1.0 DSG? Seems to be pretty reliable from what I've read.

No dsg will ever be 100% reliable but it depends on how much torque you put through it
I would imagine a 1 litre would be as reliable as they get
