Polo 2022 - rattling noise somewhere in the dashboard

Whenever I drive on roads that aren’t smooth I hear this rattling noise somewhere in the dashboard. I know it might not be the best built but is this normal?

I’m unable to view the video but I wouldn’t consider a rattling noise to be normal.

Does your car have a fake engine noise generator? (a.k.a. a soundaktor). If so, when the engine sound is set to ‘sport’ in the driving profile menus the soundaktor can cause a buzzing / vibrating noise. My GTI+ has a soundaktor and I have the engine sound set to ‘eco’ and I don’t get any dashboard vibrations or rattles. However, if your rattling noise changes with different types of road surface, it’s probably not the soundaktor.

If it’s not the soundaktor in your car, if you’re planning on getting your dealer to try and locate the source of the rattling noise and fix it, there’s a risk you may end up with additional unwanted noises, as any trim pieces the dealer removes and refits might not go back correctly. Also, it’s not unknown for dealers to damage trim pieces when removing and refitting, and then denying they caused the damage.

Sorry, I have updated the link but here it is https://vimeo.com/1004630821?share=copy

Yeah that is my fear in case they do more damage and don’t find the root source. I don’t know how to describe it because there was a period where the noise stopped but came back.

The Soundaktor in my Golf was a minor irritation vibrating the dash at about 2500 to maybe 3000 revs but with the engine set to 'race' the valves in the exhaust also did their thing to sound good too. AFAIK there are no valves in to Polo GTi exhaust and the Soundaktor vibration in the Polo is just plain stupid. So I've got it set to Eco in 'individual' and no rattle

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I feel like I've got the same problem.
