You need to adapt your eeprom.
I can help.
Dashboard swap! Seat Toledo Instrument Cluster on Cross Polo 6R
Re: Dashboard swap! Seat Toledo Instrument Cluster on Cross Polo 6R
I really appreciate it.
I’ve been editing my EEPROM these days for the Overall Tire Diameter.
Today, I tried to edit my IC to fix the brake fluid level error.
I used VAG Dash Editor V7.3, but now I’m facing a big problem.
Not only do I still have the brake fluid level error, but I also have an ESC error.
The worst part is that my IC now shows "Key not in range," so I can't even start the engine.(I can start the engine smoothly, but it stalls immediately.)
Even if I roll back to the original EEPROM, it cannot fix this problem.
Following are my EEPROM 1. 6JA_0709(Read before update, no errors)2.5C6_0818(Read immediately after the update)
https://1drv.ms/f/s!Ar140hFwlZdIuoYSNmw ... Q?e=huf0kU
6JA_0709 Before update 5C6_0818 After update(I can't help but feel that an error occurred right from the beginning when reading the EEPROM)

Re: Dashboard swap! Seat Toledo Instrument Cluster on Cross Polo 6R
Please be really careful with that app , it has issues !
I am a little confused to be honest.
As I understood you retrofitted a diesel / mile cluster and then edited the eeprom activating EPC indicator for gasoline cars but with 6000 rpm tacho and 160 kph speedo ?
and then you updated again with the diesel software.
What was your factory equipped part number ?
Do you have custom gauges?
I am asking so I can make correct adjustments
Also, on the most important part
Your before/after dumps show that your cluster was set to be in service mode before and after the update, this usually happens when you adapt a used cluster without any of the paired keys.
In this way let’s say that the cluster’s immobilizer part is not fully engaged, now if you take the cluster out of service mode and fully enable the immobilizer again something changes on the ecu and you have to relearn the keys.
I believe that you played with the “IMMO OFF” option under “Service mode” under “Other” menu on vag dash editor.
But as I am not an expert on immobilizer, I am not really sure what happened and what it needs to be done on that issue.

Re: Dashboard swap! Seat Toledo Instrument Cluster on Cross Polo 6R
My factory equipped part number is 6RF 920 861 D (8000 RPM and 240 km/h), and my POLO has a CLSA gasoline engine.
I had the 6JA_0709 cluster retrofitted by someone I found on a Facebook forum in Taiwan. He handled the immobilizer and key pairing for me.
I retrofitted a diesel/mile cluster and edited the EEPROM to activate the EPC indicator for gasoline cars, with a 6000 RPM tachometer and a 160 km/h speedometer.
I also used VAG Dash Editor to convert the speedometer from miles to kilometers and to enable the side assist and front fog lamp icons.
I checked the EEPROM of the IC I replaced (on June 3, 2024), and the "IMMO OFF" option was already enabled at that time. I believe it was set by the person who helped with the cluster retrofit.
Following are my EEPROM 6JA_0709(Read when I just replaced 6JA_0709 on June 3, 2024)
https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ar140hFwlZdIucxXMNC ... w?e=D75O0m
After reading your reply, I believe this issue is more serious than I can understand.
I will also contact the person who replaced the IC for me to see if they can help me resolve it.

Hi til3tsio, sorry, I didn't see your PM until now.til3tsio wrote: Wed Oct 23, 2024 8:39 pm Please be really careful with that app , it has issues !

I sent my IC to a netizen on a Facebook forum in Taiwan, and he helped me fix the immobilizer issue.
Then, I found the Google Sheets file "24C32-24C64" from "drive2" and noticed that "0x2CB" might be the key point.
In my original 6JA 0709 IC, the value at 0x2CB is DF, while in 5C6 0818, it’s D7. So, I changed the 0x2CB value from D7 to DF, and the brake fluid error disappeared.
I see you also edited 0x2CB, so I think this should validate my theory. Thank you again.

Thats great !
the file that I sent you contains your "old" immo data, do not use it unless you replace the immo data.

Re: Dashboard swap! Seat Toledo Instrument Cluster on Cross Polo 6R
Hi all,
Did a Toledo to Ibiza 6J swap and everything works except one annoying issue - climatronic display dims WAY too much at night to the point it's unusable.
Only workaround is pointing my phone flashlight at the cluster ambient light sensor. Once I remove the light, display goes dark again.
Tried all settings in the reference table but can't find how to disable this auto-dimming feature.
Anyone know how to fix this? I would love to have the display to stay bright regardless of lighting conditions or at least usable.
Thanks!
