It seems very quiet on the forum these days.

Post by SRGTD »

As I'm often inclined to do, I went off topic 🤣 in the ‘Changes for 2025’ discussion topic started by @lancslad1985 with the observation of how quiet the forum has become, so thought it was worth starting a separate discussion topic on the subject.

I visit the forum most days and have noticed that there can be periods of 4-5 days (sometimes longer) when no-one posts anything at all. Contrast this with some of the Golf forums and the Seat / Cupra forums and there’s lots of daily activity. Turn the clock back 3-4 years or more and this forum board was also pretty busy with lots of discussion between forum members on all things Polo-related, but sadly that no longer seems to be the case.

Some owners will have moved on if they’re no longer Polo owners. Maybe owners prefer to interact with other Polo owners via social media such as Facebook or Instagram these days. Perhaps the days of the enthusiast Polo owner have passed by and owners no longer interact with like minded owners on all things Polo-related? Maybe everyone’s cars are trouble free (unlikely?) and don’t need help or advice in resolving niggles / issues - there’s a wealth of knowledge amongst forum members and it seems such a shame not to make use of it.

Thought it would be interesting to get forum member’s views and opinions on the reasons for lack of activity………..

Yeah I noticed it as well. I'm just not working as much on my Polo as I used to. Among the busiest treads are a Skoda Octavia from giovanni, Ciclo's Golf and my Passat haha!

I still check in daily even though I moved on from the gti in December 2023 and my wife moved on from her r line in September last year. Did see a reef blue gti last week (bit like the one I had issues with) and liked it. If I had my way I’d have my red gti back, but I got out voted last time!

To be honest I think forums in general are quiet these days, but I had noticed it quieter than normal around here recently.

Still here! Not much happening with the Polo these days, can't even get out and clean it at the moment thanks to the fantastic Welsh weather.

Considering a remap one day... always go through phases of 'I really want to do this' and then 'Actually, I'd rather get a new kitchen'.

Ha ha! Given the choice of a remap or a new kitchen, I think I’d go for the kitchen 🤣.

Some do seem to be quieter. I’m on three Golf Forums and the Seat / Cupra forum and two of the Golf forums are definitely quieter compared to a couple of years ago. The other is very active though, as is the Seat / Cupra forum.

@Maarten; Your T-Roc looks great and I really like the colour. I’ve had a T-Roc as a courtesy car before and it drove really well.

Enjoy your T-Roc 👍.
