Hi. Is there a way to switch off or mute the rear sensors on my daughters 2011 6R polo ? ( they are factory fitted
units ) They are ultra loud and annoying for her. There is not a screen on this car. Any suggestions would be helpfull ( apart from striping the rear bumper and unplugging them !! ) Thanks, Dave

yes you can, if they are afftermarket trace the location of the unit somewhere in the trunk, follow the red wire it will probably go somewhere near the tailights and isolate it
Re: 2011 7r polo rear sensors
They are not after market , they are factory fitted sensors . Will it be the same ?. Thanks Dave

No,
You have a button for turning off the sensors under the center vent ( its labeld P)
Edit ciclo is correct, unfortunatly there is no button :/

The 6R with 4K (4 sensors) doesn't have the button.
Dave's question is very interesting (to me).
- The "easy fix" for his requirements would be to disconnect the connectors on the PDC unit.

- With a diagnostic tool it might be possible to stop the sensors from working by disabling the PDC unit from the GW installation list.
- It may also be possible to reduce the volume of the sensor beeps on the PDC unit's Adaptation channels. If possible, make a copy/backup of the current setting in case you decide to revert to it later.
...although disconnecting the driver assistance systems is either prohibited or will be prohibited in the future.
