I have a polo match V 6R1 1.4 (56 plate). I've had problems with opening the tailgate. I have changed and locking mechanism and the new lock does work but it is very intermittent. I think the issue is with a loose wire, I found this out by moving the wires around nothing technical
. The issue seems to be a connection in the brown/tan coloured box in the image. Can you tell me how I can remove it from the fixture (fixed on the tailgate) and open the box up?
I'm hoping I can open the box and easily screw the wire back (like in a plug) or is it not that simple?
I've never done this before. Is is advisable for a general DIY'er to do? or should I take it to professional?
