BCM upgrade (pq24 to pq25)

Post by Danypolo5 »

Hi everyone 8) 8)

After a long time I have found a 6q1937049f (i've D version) at a good price (in the end the only additional feature of the 6q0 is the headlight washer if I'm not mistaken, and I'm not interested).

But before taking it I asked myself: why not try to fit a BCM pq25? I did a quick search and found a guy who on a 9n3 1.4 tdi like mine swapped the 6r tacho and to make it work he also had to fit bcm and abs from a polo 6r plus swap the control unit with edc17 from a 9n3 tdi bluemotion. But no more option or news. ( https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source= ... V0ysflH3aV https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source= ... jsmaJuaAx6)

In any case I'd start with the BCM, which would already be a huge upgrade. Looking at elsa it shows me the pq25 pinout, but not the pq24, which makes things more difficult. The doubt is whether everything that works now would work or would something conflict? For the speedometer it could work because many Pins seem similar to me. (In pq24 there's only pin 24 of the tacho which for now I don't understand what it is: wake up; which if I'm not mistaken goes to the bcm on pin 11 of the xs6 connector, but cant find it on elsa)..

I would like to hear some opinions here on the forum and if maybe there is someone who can or would like to help me in this "enterprise".

Thanks

6Q0 is for automatic.
I had headlightwashers (from factory) with a 6Q1 BCM

Good luck with the rest

i think you should pretty much take everything from pq25 to make it work, i don't think a lot is backward compatible.
so bcm, tacho, climate control, airbag, ecu etc...

thanks for your reply 8) i think airbag and clima will work because 9n3 and 6r gateways are the same code, change only the label (19.clb for 9n3 and 6r.clb for 6r); so the canbus it's the same, i think..6r have only lin in addition (for example steering pump, g85 and cruise control leverage have the same input in both car). Maybe abs and cluster and lastly ecu, but i think only if i change one of this part.
