Full steam ahead for VW’s new South African-made budget SUV

Post by OomStu_ZA »

VW has officially entered the next phase of development for an assembly line that will produce a new entry-level (A0) SUV for South Africa.

The automaker previously announced that it had halted the production of the Polo and Polo Vivo hatchbacks at its Kariega factory in the Eastern Cape to allow for upgrades to be made to the plant.

Yet another SUV……😠 👎.

I’m sure VW have done their research to ensure there’s demand for this car but whatever the price, no thanks, not for me.

Since all the shenanigans of the last 5 years VW products have increased in price by an avg. of 30% making them now unaffordable to the masses. Polo and Polo Vivo (old 6c rebadged as Vivo) were always no.2, no.3 in monthly vehicle sales figures but has since been overtaken buy the likes of Suzuki Swift because of pricing. Now Suzuki are patting themselves on the backs with their exceptional performance but it is merely because cars have become so much more expensive.
