Lighting behind heater controls

My Polo GTI 1.8 2017 heater controls do not illuminate. I've taken out middle dial but no bulb on this model.

Has anybody had similar issues for this age of car?

Any suggestions on how to fix?

you can inspect leds with a multimeter ( the light up if they are working)

If you have vcds or obd11, you can replace with second hand HVac module pretty cheap. Its relatively simple to remove exist module and replace with another. You do need to code match to you existing module.
