In need of help - Engine lights on and code 01314 stored.

Post by matt2024 »

Hi, Recently my Polo 6r, 59 plate has started having the engine light and ABS light come on the dash with no notable effect so I scanned the car with VCDS and found the code 01314 stored in the ABS, Auto HVAC, CAN Gateway and steering assist modules. My only thought is that I might have disturbed or damaged a connector or loom somewhere when I fitted a new gearbox a few months ago but can't see anything obvious. The only other electrical additions to the car have been a RCD330 radio, reverse camera and a dashcam, but they were all fitted for at least 6 months before the light first came on. If anyone has any insight into what to check or where to look that would be greatly appreciated as I'm unsure how to diagnose further. Thanks in advance :)

According to the AI, code 01314 indicates a possible fault/damage in the transmission/gearbox connector or wiring.

- Disconnect the battery, clean the transmission/gearbox connector with zero-residue contact cleaner, check that all contact terminals on the transmission/gearbox connector are in good condition, and reconnect. Clear all DTCs with VCDS and observe if the fault reappears, and when it does if it does.

- Check that any fuses you used or those related to other electrical installations/additions you installed have not blown.

If possible, please post an Autoscan for better assistance.
