The central locking indicator light in the driver's door is going solid red after flashing a few times. According to the manual this indicates a fault with the locking system, but all the doors seem to lock and open fine.
Today is the first day I've noticed it. Previously it just flashed intermittently. I did change the battery last week but wouldn't have thought that would have caused any problems.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

You'd really need to check for stored faults by using a fully VW Group compliant scan tool.

Re: Central locking indicator light showing fault
Well I took it back to Halfords for them to use whatever diagnostic tool they used when they fitted it and they were no use. Didn’t change anything.
The timing with the battery change is way too much of a coincidence. Either there’s some ghost fault that needs clearing or they’ve upset the immobiliser or something.
So now I have to take it to a garage next week and once resolved take the receipts back to Halfords to reimburse me. I’m not holding my breath.
