Hi there,
I received a recall from VW for my Polo 6R due to a faulty Takata airbag. Since years ago I have already replaced my old steering wheel with an MFSW from a Polo 6C, I’m wondering what will happen when I take my car to a dealer for the recall.
Cheers
Francesco

Re: Airbag Recall
I'd think that as soon as your VW dealership recognises that the steering wheel, and so the airbag, is not what was fitted at factory, then they will record that car as being checked and not part of this recall.
Who knows if the later car's airbags were also Takata and if so might be subject to a future recall.

That's exactly what I was wondering.RUM4MO wrote: Sat Jan 31, 2026 3:05 pm Who knows if the later car's airbags were also Takata and if so might be subject to a future recall.
