Heated washer jets

Hi all, as you may have seen,I am lucky to have purchased one of the last polo GTI’s (Kings Red,reverse camera,sunroof & 18” wheels) now getting round to familiarise myself with a few things etc. 1/ have I got heated windscreen washer jets?,wiring in actual bonnet would suggest I have, but no listing of standard fit or option available? 2/ I could do with some help in where to get power cable through firewall for my under seat sub ( I’m a 67 year old mechanic & know my way round a bit of audio,so will be getting 52 pin T harness to give me “ switch on power”& rca’s for sub too. Any help or suggestions, gratefully received.

Heated washer jets aren’t part of standard spec. & and I’m not sure if they’re available as an option on the facelift GTI. They used to be part of the optional Winter Pack on the pre-facelift Polo (I don’t know if the optional Winter Pack was available on the facelift Polo). From memory, the Winter Pack included heated washer jets, low washer fluid warning light on the instrument display and heated seats.

As for wiring; are you referring to the wiring that passes into the cavity between the inner and outer bonnet skins on passenger side of the car? - you can see it in the under bonnet pictures in the discussion topic at the link below. If this is what you’re referring to, then I think it may be the flexible washer fluid tubing that connects the washer fluid reservoir to the windscreen washer jets that are fitted to the underside of the trailing edge of the bonnet.

Thinking about it, your probably right about thin washer tubing, I should have known that, but my excuse is it’s wrapped like cable loom with similar wiring type grommet,thanks though for pointing something obvious out to an oldie!

PS I did have an earlier Scirocco, that did have winter pack with heard jets & cable/ tube looked very similar,but I suspect wiring was light weight as well & did not draw much currentl when cold enough

Hi Steve, it does look like sheathed wiring i must admit , i presume the wrapping is offer some protection against freezing !!
How are you getting on with the car ?
i don't know why i am surprised that you want to fit a sub !!

Agree, it does look like sheathed wiring. However, based on my Polo GTI+ that I owned from 2020 when new for 4 years, my car definitely didn’t have heated washer jets but it had the sheathing / wrapping around what I’ve assumed is the washer fluid tubing that enters the under-bonnet on the passenger side of the car; seen in the under-bonnet pictures of the white car (which was my car) at the link in my previous post in this topic. Wrapping the washer fluid tubing to provide protection against freezing does sound plausible.
