Replacing broken fuel filter clip

Post by vicvinegar »

I was replacing my fuel filter on my 2004 1.2 (Petrol) Polo and accidentally snapped the blue connector clip. The connector itself is fine, just the clip has snapped in 2. I've found replacement clips online.

Anyone know if it's possible to just replace the clip or am I looking a whole new line?

Maybe a bit late in noticing this, but, VW Group do provide a repair kit for these connections at the fuel filter, I bought a couple for a 2002 VW Polo 1.4 16V - but in the end never got round to replacing the fuel filter.

I think that there are/were 2 pipe diameter size kit options.

The kits also contained new O-rings I think.

Thanks for the heads up! I had a real hard time finding the right clip online. I ended up going to a car breakers, found a similar year polo, cut the fuel filter connector off it, gently removed the clip, and installed it on my polo. Job done. Didn't have to spend a penny and saves me some time. Decent solution if anyone else runs into this issue.
