Post by Wheatley »

Hi all,
I finally got my new lights and I managed to get them installed before the rain started coming down :D

What do you think?

My question is and you probably wont be able to anser it straight away if they haven't been on long. Do they leak?

I haven't fully checked them yet (will do so tonight), I had a quick look this morning and they had some condensation inside, which is normally a good sign that no air is getting in or escaping from them.

If they've got condensation in them does that not mean that there is some damp getting in there?

The condensation in the is the warmer air in the light cooling down due to the surrounding cold air outside. If there was an opening for air to get in then condensation would not build up in the light.

It's kind of the same if you wake up in the morning and there is condensation on your home windows (not double glazing), it's because the warm air is cooling on the window and turning to water.

I should see it go after a month or so.

Does any of that make sense?

If you follow this link it should take you straight to the rear lights for Polos
http://www.dcp-shop.co.uk/catalog/defau ... _1502_1509

If you are after the black ones then I will have to dig out the part number for them, they have not put them on their site yet.

I have had no problems with mine, had a massive storm last night and not a drop of water in my car or my lights.
