COILOVERS

Post by RICHARD HARPER »

I'M NEW TO THIS FORUM, SORRY IF ANYONE HAS ASKED THIS BEFORE.

WHAT IS THE BEST ALL ROUND COILOVER SUSPENSION KIT OUT THERE ?

I'M WILLING TO SPEND ABOUT £500 MAX.

ANYONE KNOW ?

HAS ANYONE PAINTED THEIR FRONT AND REAR BADGES BLACK ?

IF SO WHAT PAINT HAVE THEY USED ?

I'M CONSIDERING DOING IT BUT NOT SURE IF TO USE A PLASTIC PRIMER THEN BLACK HAMMERITE SPRAY PAINT OR VW SPRAY PAINT, THEN A CLEAR LAQUER.

YOUR HELP WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED.

P.S HOW DO I GET A PICTURE OF MY CAR UP ON THE MEMBERS RIDES SECTION OF THE SITE ? :D

I did the background part of my rear badge in silver. Used halfords plastic primer and spay paint from VW. I'm sure you acn buy black badges, both front and rear from VAG Parts.

Easier just to buy black badges mate, check the VAG parts forum at the bottom of index

Coilovers check http://www.venommotorsport.com for FK or KW coilies.

Pictures upload them to somewhere like http://www.imagestation.com and then right click on the picture click properties and highlight the address and copy it.

Then just type and it should show up!

If you want to save a substantial wad of cash, you can always get fk coilovers on the german ebay. Last time I checked the highsports were going for a bit less than £500

Just remember to check part numbers before you buy

I've had a chat with Airspeed and he can guarantee a DELIVERED price of £479 for the mkv highsports - they retail at 570 plus delivery.

call on 0870 116 34 34 - and mention that dave sent you :)

bargain!

Cheers Guys,

Not sure if i should wait till after winters over to get coilovers, theres a wild winter forecasted here i was told.

Does anyone have any idea how long stuff takes to arrive from vagparts.com ?

Just placed an order this morning for black front and rear badges but not sure how long i've to wait for them.

Martyn is pretty quick with the orders - I ordered the front and back badges and got them a week later in perfect condition. When I ordered my smoked sidelights they arrived within three days 8) so all round pretty chuffed with the service myself :)

I heard that too, supposed to be very cold but dry this year. Sounds OK to me, I prefer cold and dry to mild and wet tbh. Winter rocks :P
