I have a last of the 1993-K reg in black magic (black/greyish iridescent standard colour from VW for the motorsport edition) polo g40 it is 1 of 10 in the world as it is a motorsport edition, has rear brake conversion, front big brake conversion, genuine VW momo steering wheel, full leather re-trim black with red piping, bee-sting aerial, bigger water bottle, one previous old women owner, engine all came heavily modified from VW as a motorsport edition running approx 220bhp (maybe more), bbs chrome rare 15" alloys, remus dtm exhaust, dtm elec mirrors, elec windows, rear headrests, crome heated washer jets even on front bumper, twin headlight motorsport conversion with one-off grille, original g40 interior mats with g40 logo, clifford cat one full closure alarm, it is believed there are only 2 of the 10 left in existance of the motorsport edition and this is the right-hand drive model, full service history inc receipt of purchase all in vw grey folder, it is immaculate.

It does not sound like other g40''s and is much louder grunt and heavily modified. No rust or dents its unreal, prestine and immaculate. Too much to list £5,000 ono (could be the only motorsport edition one left in existance). A very special car for only....

Just sounds like a modified one to me, but I could be wrong.

The "one off grille" is definately b*******s by own admission, think about it, he's saying there are ten of them at least (one on every motorsport edition)

Washer jets in the bumper are a factory option, and are the reason for the bigger washer bottle.

Most of the stuff sounds aftermarket though.

As for the 220bhp claims, I don't believe that's possible without a G60 charger. The G40 guys would be better able to help clarify this. Stu Baxter's one was a 1341cc conversion with a G60 charger (and the rest!) and has 220bhp. I can't imagine VW doing all of this to it out of the factory.

But, as I say, I could be wrong.

Only G40 Motorsport edition I can find is this white Mk2, it has:

- GRP arches
- ATS star rims 7J x 13"
- 195mm Pirelli tyres
- Recaros
- 40 mm lower
- 17mm shim up front 35 mm at the back (assuming they mean spacers?)

probably stuffed that in to see who actually read the ad - anyone who did would most likely not bid, so anyone who did was just a skimmer or overly excited and so easy to scam :D

Very true, but that's a standard G40.

Excellent find! Mine was a family car before I got it, so it had lollies and Tazos under the back seat and was full of dog hair. :?

That description is a load of non-sense. Obviously trying it on to get more money for it.

yeh the advert was sent into Club G40 for advertising.

I asked about it on the PSD forums & most people said it was b*ll*cks. some said they'd seen the car before & it wasn't even very modified, just a stage 4 jabbasport charger & a few bits. No where NEAR 220bhp.
