Will a 22mm Golf 16v master cylinder fit a GT??

Yes, and it's quite a common mod especially on G40s.

I want one on mine.

Yes they fit and i was considering it with going to 256mm brakes. But they are supposed to loose feel. So I might just get a new 19mm polo one, instead.

since someone mentioned spongy brake pedal feel, i thought i might add my problems with a similar case...

Swapped front discs / calipers for some from a Scirocco (G40 spec?).

Anyways... got those reconditioned (calipers) complete with new discs from ECP. Plus brand new brakes lines for the rear & also flexi's for the rear aswell...

Problem is... pedal feels pi** poor

How can this be rectified as i dont see anyone offering braded brake hoses for the Polio

Did you adjust up the rears well, So it gives a firm pedal ?

You can get braided hose kits from various places, including pitstop developments.

could be that the disks need bedding in and will get better after the first couple of hundred miles.

So I bought a master cylinder for a 1990 passat 16v....

So which hole needs blocking off, and what do I use as a blank??

As you look at the picture there it's the top right yellow plug which needs blocking. You might be able to get blanking plugs from GSF or maybe use a bleed screw. When you compare it to the polo one it's easy to see which one isnt used.

My brakes aint spongy. They stick. I don't want to read about spongy brakes.

My sticky brakes.

So, I've drained the fluid, and ramoved the brake pipe from the master cylinder to the flexi hose.

Called it a day at that as I'm getting a new brake line made tomorrow. However, when I put my wheel back on, it doesn't spin. Now this goes back to optimas and dans theory that my caliper is seized.

Is this fixable?

Right now I'm thinking of going and buying new calipers and carriers for an Audi 80 that use 256mm disks.

I'm getting pissed off with the brakes now.
