I had spent months researching what car I should get, and originally planned on getting a used astra. But on the way back from a visit to cargiant I went into a VW show room and sat in a Dune. I managed to talk the sales guy into letting me have a test drive (even though I havent got a license yet), then it was just a case of deciding what specs and extras I could afford. Ended up ordering a Twist 1.4 tdi with a bunch of extras.
I found this forum a few days ago, and really enjoyed reading about what I can expect from my future pride and joy, and what I can do with it later if I feel the itch.
A few things have been puzzling me tho. And Im sure most of you seasoned uk-poloers can put set me straight.
1. Whats the 6n, 9n models refer to?
2. The multi functional computer, is that the little lcd display under the speedo or rev counter? cos if so Im not sure I should have paid the extra 80 quid for it
3. Im planning on ripping out the beta radio and putting in a 1-din sat nav. Are all the 1 din ice box thingies the same size and do they all use the same kind connectors? Will i be able to connect the new toy up to the existing speakers. Theres a gap under the beta radio, can that be used for 1-din thingy.
4. I hear larger (and lower ratio - thinner tire - wheels) really change the softness of the ride. I really liked the feel of the it on the test drive, soaked up speed bumps, unlike the hammering I get in my driving instructors corsa. Will going to 16" wheels make the ride different.. and in a good or bad way?
Im sure there will be more questions later, so it very nice to find a forum full of polo heads.
