all of which isnt getting the Q answered - but apparently metz's 1L pulled 101.1mph @ 6082rpm on tyres no more than 1% different from mine - 16.62mph/1000.... any idea what gear James would have rollered it in? 4th? :D

(yeah, 101mph even with 42bhp, methinks somethings a-cock there!)
Well I dont think the rollers offer up as much resistance as the road itself, I could be wrong though. I got 75.6bhp at 6000revs at about 103mph. Which is top revs in 4th gear on the 8p box ive got. Metz must have an AYZ.

Suggesting that - and even if i assume you rounded 103.99 down there - your 4th gear is nothing higher than 17.3 ....... curious!

(top revs? not closer to 6800? ... eh i forget was it the 1.3 or 1.4? im assuming different power curves and redlines for the two, specifically a lot lower down the rev range for the 1.4 :D ....... i wonder when the results come out, will everyones graph top out at ~6000? ..or as close to as their ECU allows of course)

Sorry, this was in my 1.4, and 100mph is about 6000rpm in 4th gear. Most of the 8v engined graphs stopped a 6000rpm yeah as power and torque started to fall off after that. The exact figures were 102.3mph at 6043rpm and my tyres are 165/55/R14s. So youve got some calcualtions to do there to keep you busy. :P As for the redline, Its still says 6500rpm on my clocks and the rev limilter is still 6800rpm but it will be closer to 7000 with the poloace chip. Not that I would very often ventire past 6000rpm. 8)

*shuts down left side of brain*

affirmitive, carbon unit. processing.

incidentally with the 1-litre 5sp or GT box, and assuming the power graph on a bogstandard 1-litre engine to be an unrealistic symmetrical smooth curve either side of the peak, you'd not need to venture past 6000 at all between 2nd and top pretty much ever, unless an extra 100revs was going to mean life or death going between 2nd and 3rd. The 4 speed however is a different story - at least 6075 in every gear for best progress..
all theoretical of course... can we have some pdfs yet?
