My polo is hopefully fixed!

Post by Goz1 »

I put a topic about my car having troubles with cutting out and idling funny. Last week I took in into VW and they finally found a problem on the diagnostic check even though it was it's third time.

Took my car in today to get the throttle sensor replaced and have just got it back. Hopefully it's finally sorted. Have to wait and see. Cora :?

Been in Ibiza for 2 weeks, so just seen ur message! My car still wasn't fixed, so I left it at my local vw dealer for 2 weeks while I was away so that they could fix the problem.

Go to collect my car and they had replaced my ignition switch. However I had to pay for the part and labour cos they said it was my H/U causing the problem. Something to do with an S wire or cable? Due to this because it isn't a gamma vw standard factory fitted radio it has invalidated the warrenty.

Im still not convinced that the radio is the cause of the problem, that is difficulty to start car, idling irratically and cutting out.

Cost £116 in the end £17 part and over £80 labour. Anyway I collect my car start it up and it cuts out, this is the job there supposed to have fixed and Ive just paid £116 for.

The guy wouldnt really listen and told me to give it a few days. Thats what Im doing at the moment. The problem is my car doesnt do it all the time.

Have to see what happens in a few days. Any advice?

Thanks Cora :?

What can a radio do to your ignition system?

Don't believe that to be honest.

well if it was the k luine then its entirely possible because the k line is part of the diagnostic gizmos and if theres a k line problem then the ecu , in some cases, imobilise the car as the car can think somthing has been stolen as the k line has a fault

But if you use the ISO block, then what can go wrong?

Didn't know about the K-line btw.

A dealers told me a while ago that fitting an aftermarket H/U was the cause of the re-circulation fault, which had totally stopped working.

I doubt it VERY much, I think dealers try anything to get our money :?
