well yes...

mine tyres r are 10mm wider than yours but stretched further onto an 8" wide wheel (18x8)

u can fit 205/40/17s on 8" wide wheel. it just looks stretched

stretched tyres means less protection for the wheel as the wheel will stick out slightly from the tyre...
