Good on ya matey! The CTR isn't enough for you? (or too much so you had to get a slower car! he he he!)

I'm actually picking it up next weekend.

It's pretty standard really, thats what I liked about it.
POLO G40 for sale excelnt condition
91 J 103k tornado red new mot, fvwsh, as standard apart from very recent koni/eibach suspension, file of reciepts, serviced charger with certificate, well looked after and cared for low no. of owners, call/email for details and pics...

That one. I'll get some more pics when I get it home.

They'll probably turn up here:

http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... php?t=8995

Has a Stage 4 Jabba Sport Charger, K&N Filter Drilled Airbox. Koni adjustable suspension.
That's about it as far as mods go.
Also has Electric Windows and Central locking. VERY Clean.

That's why I wouldn't mind taking on a rolling road to see what it's putting out.

I'm planning on keeping it standard looking but maybe making some engine mods.

Taking the CTR out on the track is fun but very costly. Last time I got 120 miles to a 55 litre tank! Plus got no tyres left and at £110 a go it's not good. I dont even want to think about brakes!
I've only had the CTR for 4 months and already put 12,500 miles on it, it's just gone in for the first service.

I wanted a car I could take around a track for a bit of fun and also share the load with the miles, I looked for a G40 but could not find so I got a GT because I've always liked the look of them. Then I see a few G's going for sale and put the GT in the for sale section on here to see if there was any intrest next thing I know it's sold and I've just bought a G40

Insurance is pretty tame now being 25 and I've got a car to go to polo/vw shows. Also modding polos can be cheap and lots of fun.

Modding the CTR is expensive and anything you do will affect the warrenty, plus the mods will not be taken into account when selling it. And to be honest I wouldn't really want to change a thing as it's perfect the way it is :P . I want to keep the CTR for at least 3 years, It's a car I can use for work, for show and I know it's going to be reliable.

The G40 is purely for fun, interest in vw's and a more 'down to earth' car depending on where I'm going. I get super paranoid leaving the CTR in town at night. The subtle looks of the G attracts less atention.

Anyway, hopefully you can see why I wanted it!

I'm sure someone will know the person I bought it off too :?: , they showed the car at GTI international 2003, I even have a pic of it somewhere that I downloaded from a forum over a year ago.

And to Mr Cyhliu :)
A couple of mods and there wont be any difference in it! not on the sprint track anyway :P

I know that feeling all too well - took the *coughs* other car out on a track day (year before last) 70 litres of Optimax twice  - quarter to get there and same to get home - rest was "enjoyed" not to put to fine a point on it.

The sting in the tail was having to put four new tyres on it before I drove it down to Italy for a holiday and that hurt...... hurt a lot £1000 for four tyres fitted and balanced 265/40 and 235/45 17's aren't cheap!!!! especially when only one tyre company make the bloody things in batches of 50 pairs

That aside from the fact it's crap on a track and the Monza GSE whoops it arse (leaving aside straight line performance which you can't hardly use on the national circuit at Silverstone)

Hell I nearly took it this year after some t**t on a gixer 750 wiped out in front of the Monza on the way back from the MOT station took out a spoiler, headlight and a fog light glass with the crap splitting off the bike.....
