ive just got some new springs for the polo and in the box was a leaflet saying i need different bump stops. can anyone help me out and give me an idea as to what i need to get.
The springs lower the car 40mm.

any advice appreciated, cheers dave.

first i've eva heard about it, i changed my springs and didn't need new bumps stops, maybe there trying to make u spend more money!

my advice, u may need new bumps stops n e way, on me mums jetta, the bump stops were nackered, put new ones on and the difference is amazing!

you just need to cut your existing bump stops down by about 20mm. obviously if they're fooked then you need to replace them.

I fitted brand new G40 bumpstops on mine with a 40mm drop. Didn't cut them down, but maybe should've done a little.

I know this is an old thread, but I am going to be replacing my shocks and springs with standard replacement Monroe shocks, and lowering springs (Weitec items). I was going to replace the bump stops with standard VW items. Is it necessary to cut these stops? what effect will it have on the car by not cutting them??

Some advice would be appreciated :shock:

ive got some powerflex bump stops i was gonna use when i was putting my new springs on but i never got round to either b4 i dsold the car so they are availible if anyones interested?

let me know cheers.

p.s. i dont think its is neccesary but its does improve the ride if you do cut em.
