ok probably wrong forum for this but have beenin and have pics of a uk registered mk5 gti the pics are on my phone so when i figure out emailing them to my computer i will post them got to say very impressed though nice interior apart from the tartan trim on this example but you get a proper sports feel seat steering wheel pedals gear shift the works they go well as well. Will thw 2l fsi turbo take over from the 1.8t conversion lets wait and see :wink:

it reminds me of one of the mk2 golf gti interiors. that was kind of a red, white and grey pattern.



on a side note, dads very tempted to sell his current golf tdi and get one of these gtis 8) My reply was that i'd only let him get one if he put me on the insurance for it :lol:

any chance of getting one from the press office to test? polo forum tests new golf gti :lol:

Amongst their rather stupidly predictable "best cars of the year" (encompassing the enormous gamut of "three each from Supermini, Sort-of-family-but-not-really and Unobtainable-supercars"), 5th Gear have pulled a surprise number and chosen the new GTI as their overall car of the year --- beating all three class winners of BMW 1 series (you gotta be kidding? no, seriously it won supermini class), focus and 911 carrera.

Must say it looked like immense, stupid fun, even if they didnt quite seem to have the requisite prestige to be given a DSG model. Appears to be incredibly chuckable and not the fat stodgy mess that previous models threatened it would be. Yay!
