Was just in the the middle of peepin' the horn on the car last night when it went all muffled and quiet...... I'm assuming i need a new horn banging in but where the 'eck is it?????
To be honest if it's owt more than a quick job i was going to get the dealers to do it when they do the service this next month or so. But just wondered where the thing is cos i can't seem to see it in the engine bay.
If I remember rightly its under the front bumper, twin horns. Mine were replaced under warranty some time back as they failed, and I believe theres an issue about having a car on the road with no horn on it...
Cheers for that.... No wonder i couldn't find it....... It's not failed altogether just sounds like the missus' IS200 now very very peep peep rather than PEEP PEEP.....
Yeah i reckon just one has gone...... I got over excited last night cos We beat Nottingham at ice hockey and i was doing a peep peep, peep peep peep, peep peep, peep peep, PEEP PEEP as i drove out of the car park when the horn went near the end!!!!!
I couldn't look properly last night and when i looked earlier i couldn't see the bloody thing.... I think i'll let them sort it out when it's serviced in the new year. As long as the other one doesn't start playin' up too !!!
Would go with poor contacts in the wiring or the connectors to the horn... I had this on another car. Cleaned them up and the horn worked properly again. FYI: It's an MOT failure if it doesn't work properly and is not a clean audible sound - muffled is a failure too.
i've just had one of the tones (i'm guessing its dual tone?) on the horn go, now sounds clown like the horn is under the front bumper on the passenger side as people have already said, just get your hands underneath and around the bottom spolier and you should be able to feel it
