Help With Bank Transfere abroad

Post by wul3er »

Could someone please give me some help with paying for a Airfilter i baught from Germany on ebay.

The guy has asked me to transfere the money its hard to understand his emails as they are all in german. I translated them using a Free translator online. But they dont make much sense.

All i can make out is that he wants me to transfere the money and has given me his details.

I do have Internet banking access here for my account.

Hi wul3er, thanks for your order.
We can now will now confirm your order, on the understanding that we have the have all the items that you have ordered in stock. If we cannot supply an item, we will contact you immediately. In this case we will immediately transfer your money back to you.

Amount owed (I believe he said provisional amount or something like that) excluding postage:
€15.00
Total: €19.50

Please transfer the total balance of €19.50 using the reference 7940859899-a8293065/101810 to account 324277 at Sparkasse Kulmbach (Sparkasse Kulmach being his bank. I should think you can work out the rest of it, it's just his bank details etc :) )

He goes on to say that any costs incurred from the bank transfer are payable by yourself.

Hopefully that's.. reasonably accurate. I accept no responsibility for any mistranslation and all that mumbo jumbo, but I think the gist of it is pretty much there :)

EU legislation states that all transfers using IBAN and BIC codes should be free of charge. It's one of the good things to come out of Brussels. Use those codes (ask your bank how), fill in 'SHARED COSTS' and it'll be free, unless your bank decides the EU sucks and robbs you blind.

Good luck.

Mine always 'found' a way of doing that; I now send cash insured and recorded, cost an extra £5 and have never had a problem doing it that way. Usually quicker as well :)
