Ice problem....

Post by Markino »

Hi all,
I've got Polo 9N 1.9 TDi Highline 2004....

The 2 little "front windscreen washer" (sorry, I don't know the right Eng. word!) are rewarm?

Last night (-4°C) I can't wash my windscreen because the water/soap can't goes out... if they're rewarmable... how can I turn on the heating?

Many tahnks and sorry form my terrible English! : -P

I don't know for sure, but I'd expect it was tied to the heated mirrors (which I assume your car also has). Try looking in the manual -- it should say in there somewhere.

On the 6N2, they were managed by external temperature, in that the colder it was outside, the warmer the washer jets got.

Not sure if it's the same on the 9N.

Thinking about it, wouldn't you have to have the optional Winter Pack in order to get the heated washer jets? I'm not sure about the trim levels in the rest of Europe, but here in the UK none of them have the Winter Pack as standard (AFAIK).

If that is the case, does your car have the Winter Pack installed, Markino? Otherwise you won't have the headed jets I'm afraid to say. :(

Yeah, but as was mentioned above, Markino's not in UK, and European spec's differ from country to country.

Why don't you use some "no frost" winscreen washer fluid???? It keeps the fluid away from getting frozen
