Quite fancy the uprated coil thingy that you've done to yours... maybe nearer the summer.
Oh, not engine mods, but still performance..

poloace chip
GTI AFM
GTI induction kit (not sure on the brand)
one of your pipes is on the way yes?
powerflow cat back SS system (soon to be replaced with a straight through system hopefully!)
also fancy doing the uprated coil thing so maybe of that is what has gone on my car i'll use that spare your sending me (again big thanks!) as a temporary whilst i source the digifant bits.
also i need to do that extra earth wire as that supposedly helps?
got a few other things i like the sound of!

Man, I love the look of your Polo. It's damn sexy. Is that a respray of one of the original paint options colours? What wheels are they? Where did you get them from?dub envy wrote:one of you decat downpipes.

What engine mods have you done to YOUR GT(s) dan? I think everyone would like to know
As for me;
1.4 conversion
poloace chip
lucas coil and standard mk3 amp
decat and full exhaust from there to go on in the new year - dan whats the news with that?
golf AFM (if I can get it to work)
warm air intake system removed including vacuum switch in tb elbow
thats all at the mo.

Good response there, nice to see a bit of variation.
Gareth- I've left a message for the chap who does the exhuasts so I will let you know when he gets back to me.
As for my mods well the green runabout has the following:
G40 exhuast manifold and oe de-cat downpipe matched to a standard oe G40 system.
Modified airbox with k&n panel filter
Modified inlet elbow and oil breather vented to atmosphere (needs a catch tank)
Golf Digifant ignition coil and amplifier
de-wedged and ported throttle body
One of my chips
lambda earth
90.9 bhp @ flywheel and 79.2 lb ft torque at stealth racing
I wan't to break three figures at the club polo rr day at aldon auto in jan.

the extra lambda earth is just a piece of wire going from the battery to the lambda prob earth on the inlet manifold. best thing to do is go to maplins and get some wire and some crimpable loop-style terminals for connecting to the battery terminal and lambda probe earth.
Ive no idea on what improvements there are to be had with either coil. I just took the easier option and bought a new coil. At least I had some assurance it was going to work properly (you dont know what youre getting from a scrapyard)
