New......Polo MKV

Post by Sexypolo »

Hey!!

I just joined, going to get a MKV Polo! As u may be able to tell from my sig I had a new clio nice n modded!! Unfortunatly, I had an accident :? And the car (along with the others that hit me) were totaly writen off!!

So, time for a change me thinks........!! Insurance is a problem, they want £1800 off me for the 1.4 (74bhp) Polo, and thats standard, I mean, that car aint gonna move!! Hmmm, N it wouldnt stay standard for long either!! So......I think the gti is outa the question :( How is the 1.4!? is it slow?! I had a 1.4 16v clio (104bhp) am I really gonna notice the difference!?

NE ways, what u lot think of the Polo! Having only had French cars, I cant wait to feel the difference of a German built motor!! assuming there is a difference!!

lol, geeeze, iv gone on a bit...!! Sowie! Last thing, im Modz on www.cruise-Herts.net come check us out if ur local, were all very nice!! 8)

Cheers in advance for any info and advice!! Erika x

Hello and welcome.

Sorry to hear of your accident!

German built? Not since 1983 methinks!

Is that Shelly girl on your crooze site? The one that gets mocked on the MK Crooze site?

I was just thinking, if you're dropping 30bhp from your last car, yeah it might feel a bit slow! The Clio was what, insurance group 7/8? And the Polo 1.4 16v (100bhp) is IG 10 :? so probably £2000+ to insure that one - GTi is IG 12! :(

Stick with the planned 1.4 8v (74bhp), work on the body mods, and then source a new engine in a couple of year's time?

isnt the 1.4 8v a 60bhp model?

nevertheless, the the 60bhp was quite punchy.... (0-60 in 13.0secs) while the 16v (75) did it in around 12.3secs.

obviously the Clio is lighter and so 0-60 around 10?

GTI engine has great potential! 8)

Yeah, we go same uni too, hes taken me in a few times, such a babe!! :D

Thats part of the reason I was looking at he Polo, the accident I had in the Clio, was, pretty shocking, and had I been in any other small car, id be lucky to still be here!!!! :x And the only other car built well, seems to be the Polo!! Safety is important, dnt mind so much killing myself, but, if I have passangers and have an accident I want us to have the best chance of comming out of it unhurt!!

My insurance has been under ma ex's name for the last 3 years, need to get it in mine, start building up NCB...... and stop crashing lol!!
