Yeah you should get more low down torque. Nev you're brother-in-law whom we all know so well actually wanted a g40 manifold for a GT conversion. (he was looking at buying my engine before metz bought it) As the person he was going to do it for was interested in midrange rather than top end performance.

Force fed induction doesn't need to be very clever.......metz wrote:really? theres sh*t loads of torque though.tarquin bevilastard wrote:if you've got the gt lump in you really need to lose that n get a gt 1metz wrote:oh yea forgot..i have a g40 inlet manifold too.
Basically anything will do on a G40 cos teh blower will mae up for any shortcomings in gas flow
Normally aspirated engines - I'd go with whatever was fitted std in the absence of throttle bodies

well what happened was I sold the manifold separately to the rest of the engine as the GT manifold alone is worth £50 to a G40 owner whereas the NZ/G40 manifold is worth about a tenner.
I dont think it matters all that much at the end of the day, unless you want to go mad with tuning the thing; cams, headwork etc.
theres a guy who lives near me called neil chatergee, he's got a GT conversion (originally a 1.3 genesis) and his cars got a g40 inlet manifold and an 8P box. last time it was on the rollers it got the same as hardhitters GT with similar mods. (Exhaust, chip and induction kit) obviously these componets do vary a bit but if we ignore that fact (becase its easier for me to ignore it
) then the difference made by not having a gt manifold on a mildly tuned engine is marginal.
like nuttinew said, be interesting to see what it gets on the rollers. you got any mods planned for it by then metz?
Mark hunters got a good photograph of 2 simultaineous rolling road printouts on his G40. One with a G40 manifold and the other with a GT one. The difference is quite a beneficial one. I'll try and find it.
