Chrome Number plate surrounds.

Post by independentphoto »

Hi folks,

Has anyone got any particular recommendations for "Chrome" number plate surrounds. For example, which ones fit the MKiV particularly well with a standard plate. I was thinking of an even sized border all around as opposed to the ones with a design on a wider bottom edge.

I'm also wanting to use the standard plate fixings.

Comments appreciated. (including "They're Naff mate!")

Cheers,
Garry

I use the Halfrauds ones but only on Senators as they have enough chrome on the bumper as std to look half decent. Also you don't have to bolt the plate to the surround so it gives a "clean" look

On a Polo my recomendation would be - don't? - double sided sticky tape holds my plates on

Thanks for that. Just to elaborate, my Polo is satin silver with clear indicators & repeaters. I have also done the grill with chrome strips which look the biz (pretty much like the newer model VWs). I reckon that if I can get ones that fit the recess of the front bumper, they'll look good.

By the way, the front plate is screwed on.

Any advances folks?

Thanks

OK with chrome on the grill and a chrome badge on a silver car - I'd get a chrome number plate surround - it would look good!!!!

If its what you want then do it. There cheap enough to write off if you decide you dont like it. Plus you can always flog it to a mate if you change your mind.

Demon Tweeks stock them I think.

I think they will look good as u have other chrome parts,
lets just hope the plate wont stand out to MUCH!
then again for the price u could always make them into picture frames :S

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 86948&rd=1

cheap on ebay for 2
