just bought these gauges from e-bay and need some advice

Post by polonuts »

hi all
I've just bought these gauges from e-bay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... RK:MEWN:IT

Does anyone have a wiring diagram, or know of a wiring diagram on the net for these? I know that I will need a sender unit for the oil pressure gauge, does anyone have one for sale or maybe know the VAG no :?:

I was considering to try and fit them in the dash in place of the cigarrette lighter and ashtray, but am unsure if they will fit :? Any help, suggestions or advice would be really appreciated.

look forward to talking to you all

Post by polonuts »

I have just found a wiring diagram on club polo

http://www.polo-gt.co.uk/

under mechanical and tuning section, but am still unsure as to which sender I need?

do I need the pressure sender/switch? Do I need the Temp sender?
or do I need both??????

If one or both of them are already in my engine bay, where the hell are they?

Please guys, I really need some help here

seriously tho any help would be appreciated

you need both best bet is to do a search on ebay for vdo sensor, they are listed cheaply.

none of them are already in your engine bay although the oil warning light sensor is on the back of the cylinder head.

think I have found them?

i think that these are the ones:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 85894&rd=1

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 19757&rd=1

just one more question: does the pressure sensor replace the original at the rear of the cylinder head? and where does the oil temp sensor go?

the pressure sensor does not replace the original you need a T splitter.the temp sensor goes in the sump in place of the sump nut
