Marauding drunken old ladies!

Post by Tahrey1043 »

Damn it all to buggery! What is wrong with this country?

Heard earlier this eve from a mate who I was getting a little worried over the silence of, not appearing on the net, no response on phone, which had me concerned to say the least.

Turns out on the phone front, she's got a new one, had texted me the number and a few things about her... condition, but made a mistake when copying MY number (which never, ever changes) so these things never got thru. She thought I was being rude and ignorant (as usual) :D That's kinda minor though.

She's also been away from the PC because... she was in an accident. Riding in someone else's car as a passenger. Stopped at the tail end of a red light queue.

Car goes right into the back of them at about 50mph. Luckily it was a reasonably large 3-box saloon or the news might have been much worse. Thing is a write off, looks more like a micra at the back now. All occupants hospitalised, my friend ends up strapped to an immobilisation board because they dare not take the chance that her back might be fractured and cause spinal cord damage, especially as she already has a condition with some missing vertebral discs. Still in quite bad pain and had her usual cocodamol* backed up with heavy morphine until she was discharged. Now recovering at home, off work, getting a meagre but welcome bit of contact via phone and net. May well go take a quick visit this weekend.

Not sure on her driver and other passengers, or the person that hit them, but i assume they're either OK, or it's too bad to talk about this soon.

But get this... the person who went into them..

74 year old lady.
Breathalysed afterwards (so must have been in an alright state somehow)
Admitted to having had "oh, a couple of drinks" before setting out - for someone of her stature, a couple halves of mild would probably be fatal for already age-impaired coordination and reactions.

What the hell is going on when even old ladies are driving about p*ssed off their shrivelled t*ts and smashing innocent folk up? By the sound of it she didn't care for the people she hit... I can't imagine she'll get out of it with a license for the rest of her natural life but I hope they find some other way to wreak (law-abiding) punishment for this crap.

As its staffordshire she'll probably be getting a couple automated speeding fines for daring to exceed 40mph, can hope for that much at least... jesus on a board...

This in the same day I saw a headline on a leeds local paper with the story of a 12 year old girl who took the family car whilst drunk - and her folks consider it a matter the police shouldn't be involved with?!?!?! (yes, it was a corsa - consider them the uberchav)... girl gets p*ssed at 12 years old without the parents being upset is where social services should be getting involved never mind when she takes the car and hares off at 70+mph through town and village streets. (i assume it wasnt anything more as she probably stuck it in 3rd and left it there - apparently she's hardly tall enough to reach the pedals and see over the wheel at the same time).

Not normally a violent man but this is where i go downtown to find some guy in a shady bar who'll sell me a 9mm, no questions asked... no... thats not taking it far enough, shooting's too good (plus i'm a rubbish shot, one meant to cause long-term, difficult to repair tissue disruption would probably "miss" and be instantly fatal instead).
A baseball bat with a nail in it, to the kneecaps, ribs, shoulders and elbows. Have some of that you unfeeling sods, maybe some drawn out pain will bring some sense to you. Get a little - just a little - of what you caused or could very likely have caused.

In the words of Charlie Brown: "Augh"

* as an interesting and less depressing aside, this means i now know why she gets off her face on a couple of baileys and half a guiness, small frame excepted. CoCo and alcohol don't mix (previous uni housemate on the stuff to deal with a rock-climbing injury demonstrated that one quite explicitly), though i guess she's used to the risks. (CoCo and weed, or weed and alcohol, now thats a winning combination allegedly.. housemate guy was sad to give up his hash on getting a firm job offer from BNFL as it helped ease the pain alongside the CoCo - or instead of it, if he fancied a social drink - and had "pleasant" side effects ;))

Hell.. well, I hope they're all ok.. I don't think I've ever said this about a 74 year old lady before, but I hope she gets the book thrown at her in such a way that it hits her smack between the eyes.. bet she's one of these people who go around complaining about how awful the youth of today are as well, as she gets into a car pissed...

And, yes, I do think you should consider anger management ;)

this IS my anger management   lol

i wasnt angry, just shocked and a little dispairing. sorry it wasnt a story of me flying into a hedge or whatever :D this sort of thing just hits home a bit hard

have actually learned to deal with things a LOT better than i did at school. dont throw chairs any more for one thing. and have to keep lip buttoned pretty hard whilst still living "at home"... any supposed outbursts are 19 times of 20 more for comedic effect these days. 1 in 20 is still genuine however, but mostly in defence
