I'm thinking about a new exaust. I want something hidden behind the back bumper, as i dont wanna cut my bumper up and i dont want the exaust hanging down below the bumper. So going to have to go for a custom built back box. Anyway... Going to keep the Cat, and want to use a supersprint centre pipe. on there website theres two that fit a Gti, basically I wanna know whats the difference.... heres pics
The pipe end on the Polo GTi points at the ground and is difficult to see at it's recessed under the rear bumper. These don't look the same - the straight pipe will blow exhaust fumes into the inside of the rear bumber surely?
I've got the supersprint center pipe shown at the top with the silencer and the backbox shown below. If your after nice n quiet this is ideal, looks the part and sounds deep and quiet but not harsh at all.
I have the centre section without the silencer showin above. It gives it a better sound and isn't a really alot louder. It really depends on what backbox you get but i would get the middle section without the silencer it is less restritive.
Thanks for your feedback! I managed to get the whole system from good ol' eBay for £120 was well pleased with it considering it was near perfect condition, apparently the whole system retails for around £350 without fitting. I managed to fit the thing myself however I wont be doing that again in a hurry!
I'd recommend the Supersprint system its not loud at all and doesn't look out of place. Next on my list is a BMC!
Theres a Jetex exaust in the VW Racing cataloge for polo GTi. I've given martyn the part number too see if he can get them. Maybe use the backbox from that and the supersprint centre pipe if it will all fit together.
