Engine Mounts chassis legsBrakes n stuff

Post by PHATBOYDAVE »

Can anyone tell me if like in 205' nova's and other hot hatchs the chassis legs and engine mounts are strengthened in GSI's GTI's but is there any difference in polo genesis GT's G40's
would be gratefull for any info!
Also i think i was told that MK2 scirocco disk brakes fit onto MK3 polo's is this the case? if so will MK2 Golf gti 16v brakes also fit?
Cheers

Unfortunately the chassis legs are not strengthened in the GT / G40 models. It's a shame as quite a few G40 have had cracked chassis legs and I've even seen it happen on a GT.

You can get it done by welding in certain weak spots around the gearbox support mount, thats where they usually go.

a Scirocco will have mk1 Golf brakes on it wont it? These will fit a mk3 polo but mk2 golf 16v stuff wont. If you want 256mm brakes you need to find an old audi coupe (basically the same calipers mk1 golf owners look for).
