Ouch I believe that's the biggy, worth checking around dealers as prices vary. Around the £400 - £500

- £245 for a 40k service - NB this does NOT include the cambelt change, although they will check its condition. Other peeps have recommended changing the cambelt at 40k, but i'm pretty sure the book says to have it done at 60k. A cambelt change is probably gonna be another £250 on top.

Cambelt change is supposed to be at 60k, however my cambelt tensioner went at 53k and I had the whole lot replaced under warranty thankfully - so my 60k service last May was £156 instead of... well, I'd rather not think of how much it might have been  in a wierd way I guess I was kinda lucky :?

Mine would've been £165 from a specialist for the 40k (had the engine not eaten it's arse shortly before service), so £245 sounds about right for main dealer..

Hopefully my 50k won't be too much next month, only had the 40 in september

My cam-belt went after 40k, fortunately also it was replaced under warranty but had to make do with a couple of days without the use of the car! Apparently it would have cost £350!

Need to have a major service too, I assumed it wasn't going to be cheap, probably worse now that I'm in London, the nearest dealer is the one in the City...I daren't even ring them for a quote just in case they end up laughing down the phone...

Thats' a bargain, which dealer was it that offered the service?

I rang round a few places and the cheapest I got was £230, I'll be paying £280 tomorrow at Pursers in London, I was working it out even though it is expensive it probably works out cheaper than driving a 300 miles round trip to have it serviced up north...
