VDO Gauge NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!

Post by polonuts »

 OK lads I'm at the edge of sanity with these b*&&^y gauges that I have bought from e-bay. They are the ones out of an Audi. I have made a great mounting point for them, wired them all in except the oil temp sensor that I bought from e-bay is the wrong sodding size!!!!

Can anyone please help by telling me where I can find an Oil temperature sensor that will definitely fit my polo. I have tried looking on the net but have had no luck whatsoever

Please help so that I can have the dash board that I have dreamed of since buying the polo :!:

ok got a little bit of sense from the company that I bought the sensor from. They said that they need the size of thread from my sump plug. The only problem that I have got is that its stopping alot of oil from spilling out of my car at the moment

Does anyone have a sump plug to hand that they can measure across the threads to let me know its diameter??? The thread size of the sensor I have is M18 or 18 mm across the top of the threads. So logic tells me that the sump plug must be around 14mm across.

If any one can tell me the diameter I would be eternally grateful.

14mm sounds about right - same as the spark plugs isnt it?
