I'm sick of it!

Post by workinprogress »

Do you ever go on forums and think why am i on here? i realise i've made the choice to go on that site but their talking about the same old stuff and just inflating their own egos trying to big up themslves all the time. Fortunately im quite fond of this site

not going to name any names but its quite a well known forum i know most of the people in the group and my opinion of them is getting to the point where i'm just going to tell them to drop dead

rant over going to check out the threads

LOL I think I know what forum you mean.

I've given up on it now...I will not go to many shows this year through pure lack of passion. I think the b.itching and competition has made me realise there's no point. Hey, I'm in a SEAT...noone will actually care!

I go on 4 forums now

UK Polos.net (One of my favorites)
Autobahnstormers - (Other favorite -big vauxhalls and Opels inc the LC/LO - I have one of each)
TWOMAS - Opel Monzas only and real real quiet - One day on it and I was second highest poster (well I've got one of them too)
MKIV (big fan since they visited here - don't post much and can't keep up with how much they post!!!)

And I brouse a few other - notable one being another well known polo site..... Never been tempted to join as I'll probably be labeled as an old flash git with too many cars who sounds like he's been there and done it at least twice

mind you probably a lot of you think that on here..... Is that Taxi for me? - I'll get me coat!!!!

Hence the reason why i left this other site and now this (uk-polos) has become my "Home" Forum.

The big headness and bitciness has got beyond a joke on the other site

I swing both ways!!

I actually joined here when I was on the receiving end of some stick, but it's mainly meant in jest and I really look forward to meeting (most of) them at a show this year!!

You are talking about NWPOC right??

*Oops - just found out North-West Polo Owners Club is no more!! :o

Seems to be a lot of that dished out - trouble is it's very hard to tell the jest from the stuff flying about with malice.....

It does have a very active participation and I'm sure there is a space in the ether for both.....

I think it's fair to say my attitude on here is also quite different to my attitude on _______ (5).

More to the point, my attitude on here probably reflects more who I am, and tho I am capable of intense silliness, I respect the more mature attitude on here and wouldn't want it any other way!!

There's definitely room for both!! Image

as above. i got a bit pissed when i got some stick from mods for something i said. but after meeting them at shows, i dont care, it was all in jest and i took it the wrong way (was a bit meessed up at the time with personal troubles)
anyway, tbh i find the attitude of some people on here a bit.... well... "snobby" for want of a better word., that you feel you are above other peole,. im not pointing at anyone in particular just certain comments i have read on other posts.

but then who cares..... polo owning is all good. we should just say **** it to polotics and leave that up to those idiots in West(Washington DC)minster (whoops maybe we shouldnt, look where thats got us! )

yeah got to say the forums are the people who post on them, and I find that over time the character of a forum does change, and people come and go etc.

those who know me, know that I tend to post on the other polo forum mainly, no specific reason, but I just do.

I just hope this doesnt turn into a polo forum slagging match as its not good, but constructive critisism is.

what I find is that many people (like me) tend to post on one forum mostly and tend to lurk more on others.

ohhh Im looking forward to this years show me s**t competitions.......

how can I possibly improve on last place with no points from last years polo show.

but I guess I take this whole car thing far too seriously.

i like most forums, it shows how most folk are as tolerant, friendly and helpful as you'd like them to be, with only a few dickheads spread around. had some stick for over-long posts and dumbass comments, but that's only to be expected really... nothing really OTT

though the high falutin-ness can sometimes get a bit silly... my polo's better than a scooby etc :D
