misfiring is easy enough to tell at lower speeds, anyway... get in 3rd gear, the slightest bit over idle speed, and floor it. if it jerks like a mofo, there you have it! plus it sounds quite off if you rev it from idle...

higher speeds it either doesnt vibrate as badly or starts firing again (im not sure which) - if you think its still a vital sandwich short of your particular picnic, then get it out on the motorway (or considering your location, whatever bit of dual carriageway / long straight road you can find) and see what speed you can eke it up to. 1 litre will have trouble breaking 75, 1.3 will max around 80, GT maybe not much faster - 90 with some trouble.

(actually --- properly considering the location --- 0-60 timing might be best, or at least taking it on a hill you already know your max speed up)
