Ever had technology fail *just* when you need it?

<rant>
why is it that, for the one time that i absolutely *have* to process a bunch of backlogged emails tonight (deadlines and all that), my work's email has gone walkabout...

grrr...

i very much doubt if some of the people this will affect will believe that it's broken. they've been chasing me for a couple of weeks now and this - to them - will sound like an excuse.

going to loose face at work with this one... pants.

</rant>

I'm guessing that if Outlook's saying "Your IMAP server has not responded in 60 seconds... etc." I'm pretty much stuffed? It's been doing this all night. It doesn't work on any of the machines here. Email through other servers works fine.

Anyone know a way round this?

Deek.
fed up.

I had a starter motor go just as i was on my way out to pick my mate up from uni. Still could have been worse, could have happened AT his uni.

yeah, all the god damn time

usually it's printers or phones... bunch of c**ts!
(or university network PCs just playing stupid arses)

you could... i dunno..... you got a key to get into work?
even if you dont fix it, you can show that you were willing to travel in at gone midnight to try fettling the thing. going to sleep with your head on the server* is a nice touch.

(* or the aforementioned network machine's keyboard, creating a 200 page word document consisting of whatever letter your nose came to rest on)
