Stereo Fuses

Post by Johnmk4 »

right, was trying to wire in my Pioneer unit to my gti and as i was taking the panasonic out there was sparks...

i took the unit out to find 2 adapters and one of them had been butchered so it was probably 2 of the bare wires touching that caused the blow!

i know that my pioneer works but when i plug it all in with 1 adapter i get nothing so im thinking its a fuse somewhere else....?

looked through my manual and cant see a section on fuses so does anyone know where they are and which one is for the stereo?

cheers :D

right, i worked it out for anyone else that gets the same problem

the fuse box is under the steering wheel to the right and once open has a nice while fuse picker which came in handy

the diagram shows it to be 42 and bottom right but infact this one is 50 so u need to work back across to 42, which has a Blue 15 amp fuse

i pulled mine out and it had a big gap where it had blown, what a relief!!
