Hmmm I ended up with a few cars after I started sticking them into nichesPetrified wrote:Owning 3 cars is a bit much, I know some of you have 5+ !! but the Type-R is going shortly. I'll just be down to the G40. I need a reliable car for work so I've got this as a backup if anything goes wrong on the G40. I think it makes sense, otherwise could end up costing a lot more to get the g40 fixed quickly, or in hire car charges.
- Everyday car (Senator 24V CD Auto) was fine till I started doing a lot of track days - auto was a pain for track days so converted the car to manual - hated it as an everyday car so converted it all back to auto again and went looking for a trackday car!
- bought a trackday car (Monza GSE) cos I didn't want to damage the everyday car and it was a manual rather than an auto so then it was two cars!!
- bought the LC - intended to use it as summer/trackday use and replace the Monza - did two trackdays and both cost me 140 litres of Optimax and 4 tyres (£1000) and thought bugger that (keep the Monza for track days) I'll use it as an everyday car but it can't be used in the winter - too much power and rusts like a t**t so kept the everyday car then it was three cars!!!
- Couldn't use any of them for carting rubbish to the tip - far too nice for that so bought an 3.0i Carlton estate for that - thats 4 cars!!!!
- All to big for the better half to learn to drive in - Oh look I now have a Polo and it's 5 cars!!!!!
And then I bought another to restore and eventually be the new everyday car so hit 6 cars - hopefully my old everyday car thats donating a few parts will be scrapped soon and get me back below her radar again!!!
It's a slippery old slope........
