I was about to declare repost - but it must have been 'that other' forum!! :?

Anyway - this was my response...
I wrote:Yeah - sorry to spoil the fun but that episode wasn't actually aired!!

It was an unofficial ITV competition to see who had the funniest 'blooper' of the year. The makers of Rainbow however, went all out and created a mini-episode!!

...with hilarious consequences!!
Tis funny tho I agree!!

Ha ha ha, very funny!

Thought it was far too rude to be genuine, thought that they had some spare time one day and thought that they would make something that they knew they would never ever get to make!

I assume it's the old "wanger" episode then? very funny but alas it's a myth like the Captain Pugwash stories of Roger the Cabin Boy & Seaman Staines. It never aired anyway.

Yay, I am famous  Rainbow is a classic. Although the Jim davidson show with the "Garden of Eden" gag cracks me up every time as well.

C * L * A * S * S * I * C

I wonder if ive still got that old mp3 about with ripped-up samples from that set to a techno groove and part of the original theme... :)

me am also old enough to remember:

Fraggle Rock
Cities of Gold
Dogtanian
Family Ness
Jimbo
Thomas the Tank Engine - oldskool style with Ringo - beats the pants off the modern one
Postman Pat
Bertha
Morph
Pole Position
Ulysses 31
MASK
Centurions
Masters of the Universe / He-Man
Visionaries
Thundercats
Gummi Bears
Care Bears
Snorks
Raccoons
Superted
Fantastic Max
Transformers
Smurfs
and a hundred and one others

I also got to see the UK's only airing of a Studio Ghibli movie (outside of sky one's recent pay-per-view showing of Spirited Away that surely must have bombed) ... Laputa, Xmas 1988, BBC2, sorted ... and am either old enough to remember, or would have had i seen them
Transformers the Movie
Dark Crystal
Labyrinth
Goonies
Ghostbusters
Little Mermaid / Aladdin / Beauty and the Beast (shush - they actually rock)
Flight of the Navigator
The Last Starfighter
Moonwalker (FREAKY F**KING FILM - watch it when drunk - have nightmares)
Danny the Champion of the World (why the hell did we have this on video?)

hehehe

Ah thems were the days, the pinnacle of kids TV... I've got The Dark Crystal on DVD, along with Transformers the Movie of course! Essential viewing, both of them

Little Mermaid, heh heh. "Ariel man, she's so hot"*. Oo-er.

i thought that was red dwarf, si?
(oh no, wait... flintstones :D)
(even when i was 6, flintstones and scooby doo were'nt funny... does that make me odd?)
(warner brothers and dick dastardly, now, thats comedy)

<muttley>hehehe</muttley>

the 80s (and to be fair, early 90s / late 70s) kicked a whole lot of ass televisual-wise for kids, and its just a shame that most of the adults programs have managed to make it to DVD, but the kids stuff has just vapourised. i've got the first 2 (3?) dvds out of probably 5/6 of dogtanian - dunno what happened to the rest of the series, but if you can stand the somewhat rough movement of the animation compared to modern works, its sweet-as. Also Around The World With Willie Fogg (ah, forgot that off the list!) is out there in DVD land somewhere, as is Ulysses 31 (saw one copy, in an HMV or something in edinburgh, when i was skint) and the family ness. Might channel my hard-earned into a disturbing nostalgic collection...
Oh, and dangermouse / count duckula of course (couldnt avoid them for love nor money)
But no MCOG on the high street shelves.. No T/cats.. seems to be some mask and transformers about but not too bothered by that (too popular to die out)..... probably postman pat and thomas are about but i'd never get away with buying OR watching that :D :D

swap you a bootleg of your dark crystal & tftm (i got the vhs but it's worrrn) for the entire run of Mysterious Cities in good quality DivX (about 8 CDs) / good-as-could-make-it VCD (13 of 'em plus soundtrack audio cd)?

(groovy man, you're too young, you missed out - series only ever played out 1 1/2 times on uk screens :D)

# up above the streets and houses rainbow flying high, everyone can see it flying over the sky #

one skin.... two skin.... threeee skin...
