bstardchild got them onto his 6n, so I don't see why not - the 6n2 has the same requirement in terms of stud pattern and offset, so yeah I reckon they'll go on. Winter wheels perchance?

EDIT: wheel whore moment: the Lupo GTi is fitted with 15" 'Bathurst' alloys, the 14" Kylami alloys are off the 1.4 16v Sport - I asked Pettsy about the Bathursts a while back as couldn't remember their name - the GTi alloys would be a direct replacement IIRC.

Loan wheels - mine - while I refurb his splitties to his specification - date planned is into the show season so my BBS's - original loan idea will be where they should be - on my car

What I'm concerned about is GTi has bigger brakes so worried about caliper clearnace if I try to fit em on his GTi

Slight hijack, but... Chris have you tried BJV Engineering? http://www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk/ - I was gonna get them to do mine but it costs and you need to leave the wheels with them, but they don't supply temp. replacements

Ha ha ha, spooky that, thats the company I had decided upon but wanted to know if Bstardchild knew somewhere better.

I've already checked out the prices with them as the price list states 2003 prices and unbelievably, the prices still hold for now! (mind you this was November 2004).

Trying to decide when to get them done, I don't want to take them there too early while there is still bad weather but then I don't want to wait too long into the Spring when I guess the majority of car owners decide to have rims refurbished and then have to wait...

Get them done maybe late March early April and you should be OK... but it is the british weather after all

BJV is about 140ish miles away from me so I'm going somewhere a little more local. Hopefully I'll have the cash together so that I can get the wheels done by early June and have some bling shiny wheels to roll around on

The price needed? £300 problem is I just spent all my wages in about 3 days on various things, so it has to wait once again

Erm - I think I'm opening myself up here a bit.......

I do most of the work myself

Well in order of activity

- strip the tyres off say £2.5 per wheel - easier to repair and polish without tyres on

- Strip the centres out

- I get the centres done by a local place about £65 for bead blasting and powder coating

- Materials for polishing/stripping lacquer etc say £25 - I used 2 cans of Nitromours on mine!!!

- If I did em for anyone else it's about 6 hrs work so maybe £40

- Refit centres (included in above)

- Refit tyres, new tyre valves and balance - Std rates about £5 per wheel at my local garage

So what does that make the total?

£160 by my guesswork

Well thats the price I quoted to Andy with the bonus that I'd loan hin a set of rims to roll around on while I did it - trouble is he wants em done a bit later in the year and the splities will be back on the MKIV so I said if we could find out if teh Kyalamis fit he could use those for a week

Highly commendable, wish I could only had the knowledge and skills (and probably the balls) to do the work myself...not only do you save money but you must get that tremendous amount of enjoyment and pride in knowing that you created that finish...
