Black mk4 polo vs black mk4 supra on M25

Post by Mr T »

Hi all,

I was on my way back from a jap meet in my supra yesterday and joined the M25 where a saw a black mk4 polo, the guys in it were taking pics of my car the guy driving seemed to want a race, I may have done if my car was boosting well and it would have been interesting as the car looked extremely quick! I'm on here as I'd like to find out was was under the hood!

if anyone knows who this might be then please post up

Thanks.

I wonder if this is R4BBY's old car? Did it have "chrome" wing mirrors?

could have been the mk4 1.8 20vt conversion that was at the Club Polo RR day recently? It looks pretty standard from the outside.

It got 202bhp if I remember correctly but quite a lot of people were complaining about poor results on the day. Especially since a lot of the cars went on Stealths rollers a couple of months ago at the Club G40 RR day & got a fair few bhp more with the same spec.

Hi, yeah I was coming back from boxhill,

It had what looked like bbs wheels, and it look pretty clean, no silly body kit or anything.

I couldn't hear a dump valve so thought it might be a vr6 but I then remembered that you can't get dump vales for the 1.8 T's anyway?? or I didnt think you could when they came out.

tbh I was most impressed by it's stopping power, he seemed to just tap the brakes and it killed all momentum.

my car's only producing 270bhp (220rwhp) at the moment due to a boost leak so anything over 200 should definately give me a good run!

Sounds like it is a lads who was at the Club polo RR day. I dont suppose you can remember if it had a few scratches down the side. Think his girlfriend went a bit crazy with a key on it. 208 BHP i think it had.

P.S I like your members name. (Mr T) Thats my nickname at work, i reckon you got the idea from the little quote from my sig! 8)

Lol, actually it's because of toyota, people call them by Mr T! and it works with my name as well, well kinda!

I wouldn't have been able to tell anything on the car, only saw it going from 80 onwards, I believe it went up to about 140 pretty easily!

so what sort of performance times would a 208bhp polo do 0-100 and 1/4, and is that 208whp? so more likely 240-250bhp?

no that's at the fly. I don't think he'd cause you much trouble to be honest, it'd be pretty difficult to get the power down in a FWD polo. I don't think it had anything fancy done to the transmission. If he had an ATB diff at least he'd have more of a chance.
