No sorry the G40 as GC says is group 15.

My other car is a Group 17.

Insurance is one of them things you just have to live with if you want to own/drive a fast car I guess.

Although having one 15 and one 17 is a bit of a nightmare at the moment.

thats insane considering i got a CL covered for £700 at 20 yrs..... (mind you i did say my address was LL57, termtime address, not B73...)

and forewent the idea of swapping for a GT or G40 this year (22/23) as they were about £850 / £2000 respectively.

i'm 17, past my test last november, have no no claims, and that price was based on no modifications fully comprehensive insurance.

(obviously my car has a so many modifications i thought i would get a normal quote first and see wot happens)

i've done my pass plus now, and norwich union have gone down 2 1200 quid, fully comp, f**k knows how they work it out.

That's not a huge amount more than I'm paying for mine, and I'm 22 with a year's no-claims.

They can charge you whatever they want to, huge quotes are there to put you off, they're basically saying they don't want to insure you.

If the GT is cheap and you want to keep the CL just upgrade all the CL parts with the GT parts and sell whatever you can of the GT on and make a few bob back. I went from a 1.0L SPI to a GT and it was great fun, there so much more pokey and are alot better on the motorway.

I got 350 miles to a tank in my GT and that was before it was serviced. You say the GT's cheap, how cheap is it exactly...?
