Well the alternative is the library - they nearly always have copies..... JATGroovyCarrot wrote:My thinking exactly - there's one on ebay that I've been keeping my eye onbstardchild wrote:Thats the bugger - carb off and to bits and look at all the jets they are stamped with their sizes

That's meJust a cheapskate at heart![]()
The quality of my digicam's close up photos is appalling, photocopier would be far better.. although I could do it the easy way and just make use of my library card for once..take a digital camera!

you'll find the haynes are reference only, a bit dog eared but without a speck of oil on them! the library makes money off the copier, dont ya know (you really think it costs 5p to put a little bit of carbon onto a sheet of dog-rough bulk paper?
) so they're not letting the reference books out of sight ... notwithstanding the theft issue.
have you discovered Macro mode on your camera yet?
admittedly my olympus is bobbins up close even with it on, compared to the old fuji (which was awesome in close-up), but you can get a good readable copy of an A4 page with it at 1600x1200 / 2 megapixel mode. (another tip - if it's either too blurry (flash off) and/or flash makes awful glare that washes parts out....... set it into force-flash mode, but cover some/all the bulb with your hand - not finger, HAND ... get you the sharpness of the short exposure, but with far less glare, and though it'll be pretty dark, the text is all full-black / full-white, its easy to make readable on the PC later by just adjusting the dark & light levels. the photos may suffer a little, but like they're normally any use anyway?)

Ah, gotcha. Well, personally I think it's a good thing - no point in spending money where it's not neededbstardchild wrote:I actually meant I was
Tahrey, yep, discovered macro mode, discovered it's marginally better but not reliably so. Plus I'd feel a right wierdo wandering into a library and taking photos of books
